"Air freight to the US" is not one product. The channel you book decides the price, the cut-off and whether your cargo is accepted at all — battery and cosmetic goods routinely get refused at the warehouse when the channel is wrong.

Transit times are door-to-door and include clearance under DDP. Air Truck channels require a minimum of 101 kg per shipment.
Airlines do not bill you on the weight on the scale. They bill on the greater of actual weight and volumetric weight, so a light but bulky carton can cost more than a dense heavy one. This is the single most common source of quote shock on the China–US lane.

The 1 kg per 6,000 cm³ ratio is the standard air-cargo convention. It is why reducing carton size — not carton weight — is usually the fastest way to cut an air quote, and why we ask for per-carton dimensions rather than a total.

These three categories cause most US air shipments to be rejected or held. Each needs a document set confirmed before booking, not after the cargo is already at the warehouse.
